Grove United travels to MLS Club Atlanta United to play UPSL/U19 squad.

Grove United matched up against some of the best talent in the country last weekend as they traveled to play Atlanta United UPSL/U19s last Saturday at the Atlanta United Training Ground.

Grove United opened the scoring with a bicycle kick goal from Grove Forward Arfenne Senior in the 3rd min. Atlanta United equalized with a goal just before half time and they struck again early in the 2nd half from an attack down the right side. Grove United put the pressure on throughout the second half but was unlucky not to find the equalizer.
The match was an excellent opportunity to compete against some of the top talent in the country and offered real-time insight into soccer at the next level. The match also allowed our players the opportunity to showcase their talent and continue their individual and collective development.

The Grove United Squad featured a mix of its semi-pro players and its U19 Academy players. 16-year-old Lucas Speigel and 18-year-old Sam Goodsell entered the match in the first half making impactful performances.

The match was a part of a full weekend of a fantastic soccer experience. The Grove United players went to the Atlanta United First Team match vs Toronto FC in Mercedes Benz Stadium and rounded out the weekend with a match against UPSL side Atlanta City FC. The Lions won the match 6-1 with 2 goals from Matt Bolduc and a goal each from Dylan Matheny, James Lee and U19 Academy players Justin Soriano and Eubaid Wasi.
