JUSTIN GROVE
PRESIDENT | TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Justin Grove brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to Grove Academy. Grove is a former professional player for the Richmond Kickers in the United States. He has international playing experience with professional French club Red Star FC and semi-pro South African clubs Magic FC and Grassy Park Utd. Before going abroad, Grove was a full-scholarship player at the University of Richmond in the NCAA Division I.
Justin Grove is certified by the French Football Federation, United States Soccer Federation, Scottish Football Association, and the Irish Football Association and holds a UEFA B license (2026 UEFA A candidate). He coached at the Red Star FC Academy in Paris, France which has developed numerous professional players throughout all levels of professional soccer. He has over 15 years of experience coaching in the United States, South Africa, and France. Grove has developed players who are currently playing in pro clubs, semi-pro clubs, and on scholarship in the United States NCAA.
Grove has a Master's degree in Business from the University of Paris 10 and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Richmond. He brings his academic background to the Grove Academy program to guide players in their development off the pitch and in their college recruitment process.

TREYVON MEDLEY - GREEN
ACADEMY DIRECTOR

Grove Academy West is excited to announce Treyvon Medley-Green as the Academy Director.
Treyvon brings over 10 years of coaching experience, working with players from U8 to U19. He has served as head coach at both club programs and high school teams, giving him a wealth of experience in player development. A Grove NPSL/UPSL player, Treyvon understands firsthand what it takes to compete and succeed at the next level.

Treyvon is currently progressing through the UEFA coaching license pathway and is completing his Welsh FA Licenses, further strengthening his expertise and commitment to elite player development.

ALDEN SWEENEY
HEAD OF GOALKEEPING | HEAD OF STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Grove Academy West is excited to welcome Alden Sweaney as the Head of Goalkeeping and Head of Strength and Conditioning.

A former Grove NPSL standout and Division I player at James Madison University, Alden brings elite-level experience, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the Grove pathway to our Valley programs. He also has coaching experience with the Adrian Clewlow Goalkeeping Academy, working with players across all ages and developmental stages.

Alden is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University, providing him with a strong scientific foundation in athlete development, performance training, and injury prevention. His knowledge allows him to design and implement evidence-based programs tailored specifically for high-performance soccer players.
Having competed within both the Grove NPSL environment and NCAA Division I soccer, Alden understands firsthand what it takes to reach the next level.
His blend of advanced goalkeeping expertise, professional strength and conditioning training, and player-centered leadership makes him an exceptional addition to our staff.

LANDON NELSON
CLUB MANAGER

Landon Nelson brings a strong blend of professional playing experience and proven program management to Grove Academy West. A member of the Grove NPSL First Team for the past two years and a coach within the organization for the last three, Landon has firsthand knowledge of the standards, expectations, and demands required at the highest levels of the club.
During his time with Grove, Landon has played a key role in delivering major initiatives—from managing NPSL matchday operations to coordinating international camps and overseeing multiple developmental programs. His commitment to professionalism, attention to detail, and passion for player development ensure that every environment he leads meets the elite standards Grove is known for.
Certified by the Scottish FA, Landon combines coaching expertise with operational excellence, positioning him to push the Grove Academy West program forward and support a clear, high-performance pathway for every player.

IAN FOSTER
HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Ian Foster serves as the Head of Business Development for Grove Academy West, bringing a unique combination of international playing experience and a long-standing connection to the Grove pathway. Ian began his journey with Grove at age 11 in South Africa, winning the U12 Rygate League Knockout title before spending three formative years with Louletano DC in Portugal. His experiences abroad—training in high-performance environments and adapting to the demands of European football—shaped the professionalism and global mindset he brings to his role today.
After returning to the U.S., Ian competed with Grove’s U19 program in national showcases and later represented the club on its international tour to France. Having progressed through every stage of the Academy system, Ian understands the full scope of Grove’s development model and uses that insight to support strategic growth, partnerships, and program innovation at Grove Academy West.
Ian’s dedication, adaptability, and global perspective make him a key driver in advancing the Academy’s long-term vision.
